I have enough Sony points to get this unit for free. I am just curious to what peoples opinions are about it. It will not be my main player. I just want it to be able to play dvd-r(I have a Panasonic burner) and If I decide to. I want it to be able to hook up a 5.1/dts receiver.

    Thanks!

Todd, I haven't used the 'NS315, but in looking at it in stores, the build quality is quite poor. In my opinion, it is flimsy and not a very attractive player. However, for free, I'd take it. [IMG]

I agree with Keith about the quality of the unit. Is there any other Sony players that you have enought points to redeem with? If not I guess you really can't complain if its going to be free and especially since its going to be your second dvd player. Heck, just get the thing and be happy [IMG]

Instead of 2 players, why don't you get a good Sony one, and sell the main one? I don't think buying additional components so their strength's all "add up" is ever a good idea.

Does your main player not have DTS/5.1???
