I just picked up a pair of 2.4s and was wondering if some owners had any setup tips. I'm playing around with positioning and toe-in but I'd love some suggestions.
I run a pair of now ancient CS 1.2's in my bedroom. I recently posted at another forum that I doubt I will ever get rid of them. They are just too enjoyable!
The amount of toe-in would be, IMO, up to the individual. But since Thiels have 1st order crossovers, and each driver covers a fairly large frequency spectrum, they need a bit of distance to have the sound of the drivers properly blend together. This was very critical for my 1.2's generation of Thiels. One thing that is probably better for you is that distance may be less of an issue with the 2.4's due to the inclusion of the coincident tweeter/midrange.
Anyway, enjoy them. Thiels are excellent speakers!
hi Daniel, I have my 2.4's toe-in about 10 degrees or so. The placement of these speakers are critical due to their wide image. I placed mine about 2.5 feet from rear wall and 2 feet from the side of each walls to the rightt anf left. Just experiment with them. By the way which amp and preamp are you using. You have made an excellent choice.
