Any summer shows worth watching?

    My TiVos are getting bored since I've set them to only record first-run episodes of my many favorite series. Are there any shows that are running new material that I should be trying out?

    Right now the only work my TiVos are doing is the following:

    The Wire
    Nero Wolfe
    Chris Isaak Show

    and the "non-fiction" shows

    AudioFile
    Extended Play
    Dennis Miller Live

    and awaiting the arrival of new South Park episodes.

    So.... anything on the tube you folks would recommend? FYI, I'm not a big fan of the made-for-TV sci-fi genre.

    The show Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction, every Thursday night on FOX. It's a one hour show hosted by Jonathan Franks where he presents five stories and you have to guess if they're fact or fiction.

    I've been checking out that new USA show Dead Zone, based on a Stephen King book. It's not bad for a cable show.

    South Park started new episodes.

    And, of course, Jeremiah is still showing new episodes for its first season on Showtime.

    Reruns of The Shield, if you missed it the first time.
    The new (shorter) season of Sex and the City; starts later in July.

    I did miss it the first time, and judging by the schedule (and epguides.com) I've also missed the repeats of the first four episodes. Anything vital in those episodes that I would need to be aware of before jumping into the series?
    Sex In The City already has a season pass, although I don't know why I continue to watch the show - I can't relate to any of the characters at all.

    I'm watching The Shield as well. Missed it the first time.

    Dinner for Five on IFC is pretty good also.

    I guess nobody is watching MTV's 'Undressed' then. Good for several laughs every episode.

    Right now i have on my Tivo
    Fridays Sci Lineup
    Farscape
    Stargate
    Jeremiah(Only 3 new episodes left and then reruns)
    Odyssey 5
    Sunday-The Dead Zone
    Mon-Witchblade
    Tues-The Mole 2
    Also that show with John Franks mentioned above it ok as well. I watch it once and a while. I think they are going to be repeating the old episodes and new ones on sci-fi soon. I saw a commerical this week
    Gotta love Tivo . Saves 2 hours and 20 minutes of watching commercials

    Stargate SG-1 is excellent, and although I've been told it's easy to get into even if you haven't seen season 5 (or worse, any season) I can't imagine it's AS good that way.

    Odyssey 6 is getting quite interesting, I'm pleased.

    That is my question John I want to start watching the series but jumping in is always difficult. Locally they are starting Season 4 over with this weeks show. I would imaging after that season 5 would premiere. I know six is on Scifi now. I've also considered the disks, but I hate to wait months between seasons as I would probably watch them quickly. If I jump into season 4 am I going to be lost? And then How would I get Season 6 will scifi show them again? And is sci fi getting the whole run? Of course after seeing how they treated EFC I'm hesitant.

    Also since 1-5 was on Showtime is there much cut for syndication? I Know lots of questions.

    I strongly recommend watching all of Stargate in order. With season 1 available, and season 2 on the way, there are easy ways to catch up with seasons 3,4, and 5. I will send you a PM.

    Yeah, it's better to watch Stargate from the beginning. They make a lot of references to previous events which you won't get if you start in the middle.
