Very interesting points Bill. I suspect I'd be like you. I did get to see one of the new Samsung 50" screens in a friend's home and it was pretty amazing, but I'd likely not see a big difference among others. I think in the end many of these HDTVs would be perfectly fine.

I've heard all plasmas (even the Pioneer Elites) contain a little video noise noticable in darker scenes - something LCDs don't contain. Can any calibrators comment on this?
