I miss all my SoCal HTF buddies... anyone know if there are any big releases coming to the Village anytime soon? If so, let's get together for one!

I wouldn't mind seeing Alexander at the Village, but that isn't till the end of November. Oh and Jason, I saw a free preview of Team America today at the Mann Chinese, and I have to say the movie sounded good, but probably isn't your cup of tea.

Alexander would work for me... someone revive this thread closer to the release date. You up for Alexander Zen? I'll ask Dave Tolsky tomorrow, he and I have tentative plans to catch a flick somewhere.

Jason, I can't wait for Alexander(a new Vangelis score). So yes, I'm game. I'm sure RobertR will want to go too. I'll subcribe to the thread. You're the same Jason that was at John's a ways back, right?

Yes, he's the guy who said "I felt 15 Hz in my colon" while we were watching LOTR. [IMG]

How could I pass up an opportunity to hang with my ole' buds? And don't forget, when ROTK EE comes out, we're doing the whole trilogy EE marathon at my house. Last I heard, it won't be till 12/14/04.

    Hey all,

Have you guys ever considered going to the Bridge Theaters near LAX. The theaters are well maintained and have reclining seats and stadium seating. They also have a Director's Theater with leather seats and plenty of legroom. The complex also has an IMAX theater. Best of all they are right next to the 404 freeway and parking is only $1.
    Regards,
    TCIII

If I could sit through that many hours of movies, I'd offer to host in HD. I have the first two EE in 1080i, and the regular length ROTK in 720p.

Now that's just cruel Brian! What, you want me to offer periodic butt-massages or something??? [IMG]

By the way, is anyone else not receiving e-mail notifications on subscribed threads anymore?

Well, it may not be "true" hi-def, but it is a DVI hook-up to a Bravo which is dialed in to 720p (or 1080i) and looks pretty darn good. It will be tough to sit through that many hours of movies so we will have meal breaks in between. If I could drum up enough interest I'd like to try it though. I am not going to look at the EE ROTK until the day of the marathon.

Bravo is a nice player - got one of those too. But after seeing it in HD, it's really tough to watch on DVD. I've become really spoiled with HD. I've got movies in HD that haven't even been released on DVD (Taps, Porky's Revenge, lord knows what else)...

Regardless, even in HD, that's a lot of movies to sit through. My wife is a humongous LOTR fan, I offered to buy her tickets to the trilogy @ Arclight, and she actually said it was a bit much for her.
