In my 20124th post about my soon-to-be tempest sonosub, i'd like to know if there's any concensus on the size (depth) of a sonosub end cap. I was gonna go for .75" (1 piece of mdf) for the "plug" (part inside the tube) and another piece on the the outside of the tube for looks and such.. i see a lot of people using 1" or 1.5" for the plug though and was just wondering if there's a reason for a larger plug, and if there's any improvement etc.

1.5" thick endcap will be fine. As for the plug and out side portions, the only reason to put more of it inside the tube is to have more surface area glued together which should be stronger.

A lot of people have done the 0.75" in and 0.75" out and had no problems. So either way, just something you'll have to decide on how you want to do it.
