I purchased this DVD and was quite impressed with the qualilty, given that it is over 30 years old. The surrounds are not real active, but you get surround during the musical numbers. I wish there were more extras, which is the case for most Paramount DVD's. If you like the movie, then I recommend you buy it.

The DVD is very good. The picture is excellent it's never looked better on home video and the sound is great. The OAR is pretty accurate and the film is the Roadshow version with intermission & exit music. Only draw back is that there are no chapter stops for the songs.
