Curious to see if this is worth upgrading from the original release or not. As mentioned in a previous thread, if they did a good 5.1 remix that gives your sub a workout this just might be worth it.

Thanks Travis, just read the review at DVDFile. Looks like I'm going to pass on this one. [IMG]

I'm working on a review that will be posted here in the next day or two.

    Wasn't the original edition non-anamorphic?

Shameless self promotion, although I didnt really get into the remix not having the proper equipment.

If I recall correctly, BT had a 70mm run. So a six-track (L,C,R,S Baby Boom L/R) should be sitting around somewhere and have been used rather than creating the 5.1 from an Lt/Rt.

I am going to wait til it hits the wal-mart under $10 shelf. Don't necessarily need it this instant.

I've always liked this film, but I agree it will be in the Best Buy $7.50 Sale pretty Quickly. I'll wait

I'm surprised folks are bypassing this so quickly due to the soundtrack (which sounds like a product of its time, but it's far superior to the older Sony disc which wasn't even 5.1 as memory serves).

The supplements are terrific -- an excellent 45 minute, brand new documentary, a superb commentary track, the original featurette, etc. make this an excellent upgrade on the original DVD worthy of a purchase for any fan of the movie.

Nah I'm bypassing it because it will be on the $7.50 rack soon enough.

Correct me if I'm wrong....if it wasn't recorded in 5.1EX, it won't play back in 5.1EX, right?
