I must admit, I am pretty psyched that "They Live" was just released on DVD. In the past, I was a wrestling fan, so I liked that Roddy Piper did the role, but I also thought the concept was pretty cool. So, are there any reviews out there on the new DVD???

I've had it for years! Was it recently re-released or something?

Yeah a Re-release from Universal next week 9/23. If you allready own the image dvd there is no need to rebuy as there are no extras to be seen. I am betting it is the same exact transfer and that would be ok with me since the prior release looked excellent. I just wish it had atleast the commentary track but i will live.

The Region 2 is [IMG] a killer, with commentary with Carpenter and Piper - and a short doc on the fight sequence (mainly). You won't miss the doc, but the commentary should be there on R1, too! BUT IT AIN'T [IMG] Booooo! Glad I have my R2!

Yes...the R2 certainly has more extras etc...however not much good if you want the film in it's OAR.

Wanna bet that Universal will someday rerelease this as a collector's edition and include the missing commentary and documentary? I mean they are rereleasing other titles such as Carlito's Way...sounds reasonable that it could happen. I'll pass on this release and wait for them to do it right.
