That thing looks awesome! How much are shipping costs on that thing? Are they custom made or do they have stock available for immediate shipping?
Also, do you want us to start a donation drive to get you a power screw driver?

One question, does the life-size cardboard cut out of Ron come with it?

Those look great! I was looking at Boltz's stuff (I own their 600 CD holder and like it) but now this has been thrown into the mix. I'm still a couple of months from purchasing, but when I'm ready, these will be up for consideration.
Question: Is there any support, like a little lip or something, in the back in case any part of the rack is not against a wall (ie. DVDs being pushed back and out of the display unit)?

Great! Thanks for the info. I'll probably be buying this early next year, or I'll see if I can get it as a present for the holidays! :)

The rack looks great. I've almost outgrown the two cheap Sauder shelving units I have been using. This product could be a fine upgrade/replacement.
One question: if I order soon, does it come with my very own copy of Ron Epstein to assemble the unit? :)

Does the Elite Marquee come with a shiney black finish
like the finish (URUSHI) on a Pioneer Elite tv?

Could that finish be described as piano black - the black gloss you would see on a piano. I am pretty sure I know what you are talking about.
Either way, we do take special requests via email for any special design or finish requests. A price quote will then be made based on the specific request. Sometimes there is little difference.
We can do a gloss piano black finish as per your question. However, the price would go up quite a bit for that particular finish. Our current finishing process takes quite a bit of time to achieve (3-4 days), but not nearly as long as that finish would take to properly accomplish - something we would be proud to put our name on.
Thank you,
C. Ryan

Ron I might be interested also if you were able to do a Black Urishi finish to match my Pioneer Elite T.V.
As long as the price is right.
Send me some information on the price with the black gloss finish. Also are you going to have options available in the future that will hold different amounts of DVDs?

I would also be in favor of the piano black finish.
The only other suggestion is a problem with all these types of units. I wish someone would come up with a good clean way to seal the unit to keep out dust!!! It's a royal pain to keep dust off all of the DVD covers. I don't know how you do that without compromising the look of the display.

Very nice looking unit!
1) I was wondering, can the marquee be attached to either side of the rack? All the pictures seem to have it on the left.
2) Is there any way to angle the DVDs upward to some extent? I find it easier to look at the cases with the spines angled upward (especially on the bottom shelf).

Any chance of a group purchase discount on these puppies? (I know, it's not the same vendor, but thought I'd ask anyway! Actually this may not be allowed now that I consider your other post about the group buy).

Great review.
I have been looking for a shelving unit specifically for DVD's and this would fit the size and construction, but in order to meet the room finish requirements a black colored unit does not make the grade.
What would a unit like this made out of birch or alder with a cherry (actually "red mahogany") finish set me back? I guess in this case "brass" colored screws and hardware would be appropriate.
e-mail me with the possibilities.
Thanks,
Mike
