Last week, TVShowsonDVD.com announced that the ABC Family anime, Tokyo Pig, had been announced for release in 2004 by Buena Vista. I thought the anime was hilarious and just plain cool. [IMG] Any other fans here?

And, is there any further news about it? I e-mailed Buena Vista Home Video about it (and season sets of the original Power Rangers) and have yet to recieve a reply.

    Thanks in advance.

Four months later...and I'm still eagerly awaiting news of this. Has there been any more news about Tokyo Pig?

I don't know if this is still happening. They may have considered it at one point, but since only 29 (of 61) episodes aired here in the US, it doesn't look good.

I could be wrong, but no offense to TVShowsOnDVD.com, they never stated the source of their info and no other sites reported on it independently. So, I wonder if it turned out to be a bogus lead, or perhaps the release was cancelled... who knows.

Thank you very much for the update, Joshua.

I guess I'll have to transfer the 27 episodes that I managed to tape onto DVDs of my own. Fingers still crossed, though.

I wouldn't call my post an "update" per se, just speculation on the current situation.

Thank you for the information, Joshua! It is better to have that than nothing at all. 171 minutes is either 7 or 8 episodes by my calculations, which is about 1/3 of the episodes that were aired. That's on my must-have list right away. Thanks again!
