Some nights are slow here at work and other nights can be a real test of your ability to keep your composure. They just fired one of the guys on my team for being rude to the customers so as of now I work 9:30pm - 8:00am Sun - Thurs until they can hire a new guy. Takes 6 months to get up to speed. UGH! I'm going to be tired.

I like this shift during the winter months especially when it snows. It's so peaceful when you go out for your break and you can hear the flakes hitting the ground. We have possible snow this Thursday night so I've got my fingers crossed. :)

I don't know where keenesburg is shawn, but I'm still pretty new to CO, I'm in englewood.
I took my first call of the night about 10 minutes ago, 4.5 hours into my shift. It was nap time before that :b

I work 2 pm - 1 am four days a week. It must be nice to have a job that allows someone to cruise the net on company time (I seem to only get breaks during break).

it's OK, it would be nice to be busier, the night would go faster. I'm all alone so there's no one to chat with.

LOL! I was just thinking a nap would be nice. :)

I stepped outside for my lunch break (hmmm...what is a lunch break called at 3am in the morning? breakfast???) and the wind has definitely picked up. Got my fingers crossed for some snow though on Thursday.

I work in Louisville (between Denver and Boulder on Hwy-36).

The East Coast is coming on line now so it's going to start picking up soon. Time to get to work I guess. :D

yeah, it picked up here too. A few "repeat customers" I tend to make friends on this shift and they come back to haunt me. I work in a dark room with no lights or windows, haven't been outside. Isn't it supposed to be nearly 70 today then snow tomorrow or something?
edit: oh jeeze, centennial is reporting 62F. Insane.

Ahhhh! My week is over! The 70 hrs in 7 days can be rough, but working only 24 weeks per year makes up for it.

6AM to 12PMish(the next day) every 3 days with 12hs+ on the non call day. Up to about 108h per week this past month and I'm paying for it. They call this an educational experience. :D Lots of good free lunches though.

Yep, been for 21 years. Split 7 days a month and 7 nights.
12 hr shift. Lots of time off.7 days off straight once a month. Can surf the net, just be responsible.

They watch it and lots of Access Denied.
No gambling sites, no porn, no chats ect...
You can use it during breaks and dinner time.
Don't Abuse it. You screw it up for everybody.

I work M-F 4pm-12:30AM and my fiance works Sat.-Wed. 12AM-8AM. We only see each other if I get up early of a morning or she stays up late after work. Other than that, I stay with her on her days off and we get to spend a little time together before I have to go to work.

Well, I frequently have to surf to find out info as part of my job, but as far as personal surfing... well, lunch, two 15 minutes breaks. But more than I should. Which is why I rarely get out of here at 1:00!

See, each employee is usually given one project that will take up the full shift, and has to be completed before we leave. So if you screwed around too much, well, you'll just have to stay till it's done.

But I do know employees who abuse it... and they end up staying a couple HOURS late every night, simply because they've been screwing around the whole shift. But we each have our own private offices here, so if the door is closed, usually no one knows if you're here or not. We're not watched real closely, as long as we're pulling our weight.

It's a great job. :D
