All right, since we're being wiseguys.

Sorcerer and/or Wages of Fear

Paths of Glory

Breaker Morant

Gallipoli

Falling Down

Magnolia

Carlito's Way

And the grandaddy of all "feel good" romances

Requiem for a Dream

The Sure Thing
It Happened One Night
Both are mis-matched couple "road" movies.
His Girl Friday
Perhaps a bit frantic, but very funny and good natured.
Singing in the Rain
...what a glorious feeling
I would probably steer clear of the original version of "The Vanishing", however. ;)

Jack - Eye's Wide Shut DID get a pleasant reaction out of my wife (She contiunes to amazed me even after 8 years).

I'm not sure it fits this area though.

Ken - Singing in the Rain. She mentioned she wanted it but I didn't take her seriously. Sort of like when I met her and laughed when she put on a John Denver CD. OOPS!! :)

As for SHREK - We have a Cardigan Welsh Corgi (it's a dog) and it's mannerisms are JUST like the donkey. It's uncanny. Sleeps on his back, Huge ears, big snout.

Apocalypse Now - THE ULTIMATE CHICK FLICK!! lol
