Are there any other fans of this game besides me? I mean the original from 1991(?)
    It's basic, but highly playable.
    Anyone?

It's one of my all time favourites... I wasted many many hours on it, and it's a definite classic of game design.

Yup! And also M.U.L.E. of C64 fame, as well as Strategic Conquest for the Mac and Empire Deluxe for the IBM PC..
Civ. is a classic game. I've made it once to the space shuttle ending and have also played around with stuff like nuking an area into a swampland.

Are you kidding me? Best game of all time. Well, I do prefer Civ II (Never played CTP or any of those) but the original Civ was the ground breaking, revolutionary game. Civ II was merely evolutionary.
Civ III? Ask me in a couple of weeks.. Can't wait.
