Any one coat paints (after primer) that can give that dull black often seen on mains?

Need to finish my mains on the cheap... veneer is not really an option... as I need to do it fast as well.
Is there any paint that will give that ash black look...
Could I be pointed in the right direction?

Krylon ( I think it's Krylon ) has a black that they call semi-flat. I guess this is analogous to satin, but it gives a very nice finish. It's just shiny enough not to look dull, but very forgiving of surface imperfections. This is spray paint, and I don't know if that meets your 'one coat' requirement, but it dries and recoats quickly and you should use about three light coats of the sandable primer prior to black.

    Thx!!
Any word on whether you can get in another form (not spray)?
I was hoping to use paint gun... better finish and faster... on a good size set of mains, spray would be torture - and nearly impossible to get a real good finish.
