I'll be flying economy-class using either

1. Cathay Pacific
2. EVA Air
3. Japan Air Lines
4. Air Canada

Does any of them have DC output on the armrests? IIRC, no, but then again I never paid attention before.

The reason being is I want to recharge my portable DVD player's battery for my trip so I don't get bored to death during transits (two 3.5 hours transits on the way there, and 3.5 hours + 5.5 hours on the way back). Especially when the transit hours are during the wee hours where there won't be any store open at the airport.

Don't you mean AC? Don't forget that's why you get an AC adapter :)

I believe JAL has outlets

no, I mean 12V DC outlet, similar to cigarette lighter.

there are some DC-to-DC adapter with 3-prong (looks like mini-XLR) specially made as per air-carriers' standard.

Radio Shack sells these.

As far as AC adapter, I know they are avaiable in the washrooms.
