I definitely can't wait for this DVD to be released! I hope to see the film get a nice treatment on disc; here's hoping the wait will be worth it.

Unfortunately, no news. It's in the hands of WB, which is also unfortunate. However, they seem to be putting out some classic films (Bad and the Beautiful, etc.) so who knows. I just hope they get some SE material from Robert Wise before he goes to the big director's chair in the sky. [IMG]

From the October 2001 HTF Warner chat:
"THE HAUNTING (1963) and DIAL M FOR MURDER (flat) are under consideration for 2002."
That's the last I have heard of anything direct from Warner. At least it is/was under consideration. Hopefully it will make the schedule.

The Haunting shouldn't take much work.
The print that I saw on TCM (in 2.35:1 letterbox [IMG] ) looked excellent. It had perfect contrast for a B&W film.
I would personally like to see record a commentary with Robert Wise for the DVD.

Considering WB's past practices, I'll hold tight to the LD I recently won on eBay.

You mean the "marketing" people at Warner actually have to consider whether to release this film. They should have released this great film when the remake came out. Boy, did they miss the boat.
