Has anyone heard anything about this mini-series making its way to DVD? Was looking through some old boxes and found my old tapes. Popped them in, and they're not very good quality, since they're from the original broadcast. Would love to get them on DVD.

Perhaps if Roots sells well, we'll start to see a lot more mini-series released on DVD.

Besides North & South, I'd also like to see:

The Manions of America (excellent mini w/a pre-Remington Steele Pierce Brosnan and a pre-Voyager Kate Mulgrew)

Lace - (wich made TV history when Phoebe Cates uttered "Which one of you bitches is my mother?")

Lace II

Celebrity

Kane & Abel

Shogun

The Thorn Birds

Also, wasn't there a "North & South, Part II" sequel mini-series?

Not sure about "South", but I heard that MGM has distribution rights for "North". ;)
I know he's not really talking about the Rob Reiner film.

There was a sequel to North & South.

In addition to North & South, I'd also buy "Shogun" and "The Thorn Birds".

I can never say it too much: I loved "Roots"

I agree, I would love to see North and South on dvd. I would also like to see Master of the Game, but that is a long shot at best. More mini series would be nice, but V and Roots is a start.

Actually, Shogun is supposed to be in SUCH horrible shape, that Martin Blythe told me right here on HTF to "get the VHS"!
