I have a couple. One being a 67 Dodge Coronet and my 1972 Dodge Dart Swinger which happens to be my pride and joy.

    Here she is...

Welp, I have both hobbies but I do a little each time. That car there has been through quite the restoration.

I'm the second owner, Californian car, butttttttt the quarter panels were shot meaning..... they were like GONE as in non existant. The paint was toast. (used to be B5 blue) the interior was uhhhhhh less to be desired. The engine was a /6 (V8 powered now baby) and it didn't have very many goodies such as hood scoops, Go Wing etc.

Infact, there was a family of rats living in that car. [IMG] No brakes, no brake LINES, no exhaust, no heat, vinyl top was cracked, carpet was shot, etc.

I did that car a little at a time and I'm still working on it. But that's just it. I do a little at a time same as I do with my HT hobby. Moderation is the key, that way you can have two hobbies in life or more that you appreciate and love. [IMG]

Well I guess I can DISCUSS my muscle car fantasy [IMG]

Im looking to build a numbers maching 1969 Dodge Charger in competition orange. 440 6 pack hemi though I would re-do the interior in leather as opposed to the vinyl it came with.

The problem is that it's about a $30,000 muscle car and my desire is about $5000.

So Im thinking about just getting a junker 1970 Charger and playing with it.

Hmmmmm you may have better luck finding a 69 then a 70. I've seen many more 69's out there.

You mean Hemi Orange right? Competition orange is a Chivvy color IIRC.

You could always paint a rebel flag on the roof and turn it into the Dukes Of Hazard Car which was also a Charger (68 though I believe) could have been a 69.

Keep your eyes open, sometimes you can find your dream sitting in someones field or out in the woods which is where my car came from out in the country.

There are also many Mopar websites much like this HTF board which has a lot of for sale project cars.

Good luck in your fantasy but you can make it a reality you just have to do a bit of digging and snooping around to find the right deal.

PS. Excellent taste in old American Iron. Mopars Rox0r. [IMG]

Is the GN considered the last muscle car, or not even in the class?

I'd also like a 69 Charger, Super black just like in FnF.

I'd consider it in the class, but I'd also consider the viper in the class too, so I'm maybe weird.

my dad has a 69 GTO convertible, but it's in the midst of a frame off restoration, no pics, and he'd be insane to let me drive it, I don't think he will [IMG]

Beautiful car Eve. Im not too fond of the colour, but that's just my opinion. Whats the HP on that baby?

Edit: Some fat rear wheels would go nice with that car aswell!

My last car was a lime-green '72 Duster with a 383 big block, mini-tubs, 10" wide rear tires, fiberglass hood. I sold it because it was a thirty year old piece of shit and wanted a car that would start every time I wanted it to. So I bought my '96 Mitsubishi. If I want fast & cool I stick with my bike.

Maybe in the future when I have more available funds + a dedicated garage I might get a muscle car again. But more likely a camaro..just because parts are infinitly cheap and readily available.

I mean Competition Orange, it's slightly redder than Hemi orange which as far as I can tell is no longer made, but Competition Orange is (It was a Corvette Stingray color, and is the color Mark Wahlbergs Vette is painted in Boogie Nights)

Yes the hey days of Hemi Orange, Plum Crazy, and Green Envy(?) were nice, but the Mopar parts division of Dodge is no longer what is used to be and I don't believe they produce those colors anymore [IMG]

I dont know WHAT you do when you're trying to create a #'s matching car but they no longer carry that kind of vinyl nor paint anymore.

I also have NO idea where one would find used cars anymore, Philip can probably attest to how HORRIBLE our local want ads are for finding cheap cars.

    Find used muscle car: Ebay

Get matching paint: PPC or other paint manufacturers can reproduce the exact same color thirty years later. Mopars bright green was "Sublime" green.

New Vinyl: Year One or other restoration specialist.

Buying any number of old-car magazines should give you thousands of businesses that deal with old muscle cars and how to restore them. You can even buy a pre-restored muscle car these days.[IMG]

I don't own one at the moment. Right now I have a 2000 Camaro SS(maybe modern day muscle). I have owned:
    67 Chevelle SS (396)
    68 Camaro (327)
    70 Camaro (355)
64 Ford Falcon (260)(not really a muscle car but thought I would throw it in anyway[IMG] )
