Funny joke about Casablanca! (April Fool's Day is over, though.)

Technically, Casablanca could be remixed to 5.1 well, but it would only be for the musical score. (Since WB actually found the original master for the score) It wouldn't really suit the film, though. The mono track on the current DVD is flawless, as is the video. Great early effort by Turner, IMO. The current DVD also features nearly a dozen classic WB trailers, plus a making-of documentary about Casablanca.

Goodfellas is in the works for a special edition (2-disc!) for this year. Martin Scorsesse recorded a commentary for the film, so this ought to be great!

I doubt Dog Day Afternoon and Cool Hand Luke will be re-released in the near future. Both are anamorphic widescreen on DVD already and probably don't have a whole lot of potential extras.

Even if Warner did decide to re-mix the audio for Casablanca into dolby 5.1, it would be pointless. Put simply, IMO, it would be just "glorified mono" anyway. Why bother? The film is quite old and doesn't need to be in 5.1.
