Any info on Johnny Sokko/Giant Robot? (1 Viewer)

Anyone else remember this one? Series was edited into a TV movie called Voyage into Space. I loved it as a kid, wonder if it was really any good and if kids today would enjoy it a much as I remember enjoying it.

I watched the original series in Japanese. It was a fave of mine as a kid watching this fun series from the late 70's (or was it early 80's?). Anyway, this is the same live action which the anime based Giant Robo from.
Both are fun to watch.

I loved this show as a child!
I remember crying at the last episode when the Flying Robot "killed" himself to save the world or whatever by flting into the sun.
