I haven't heard anything on this.
Yes, there are a number of DVD recorders that will handle dual-layer, although the media seems to be in short supply at most brick and mortar retailers because the installed base of players isn't that big as yet. I myself have a Sony external USB/Firewire. It goes for about $200.00 A USB 2.0-only external can be had for $170.00 or so and an internal drive for as little as $100.00
Sorry, I meant for the TV.
I'd like to see a consumer standalone unit that does DL.
PC DL units go for less than $100. I got mine quite a while ago for about $60. Worked like a charm on both DL discs I burned.
But with Blue Ray/HD-DVD coming out so soon, I doubt we'll ever need them.
Craig what is it?? IS it external?
