It's just a new cover and still is non-anamorphic. Same exact extras on the back though AND it has the same exact UPC too! I'm also waiting on Special Collector's Editions for 48 Hours and Another 48 Hours.
He only did the Paramount re-release of "THE WARRIORS" because Paramount begged him so they could sell some comic-book video games.
Hill is one of those directors who has NO interest in his films once he has released them. I know, we have been trying to get an S.E. of "STREETS OF FIRE" off the ground too.
I'd be happy with a new anamorphic transfer of 48 Hours released on DVD. To this day it's still one of my favorite movies and I'd love to see it look a bit better than it does on the current disc.
The first time I saw 48 Hours was as a kid when the local Mann theater paired it with Star Trek II for a double feature. My friend and I were only 12 at the time but we didn't get run out of there when 48 Hours started so we stayed for that too.
