shawn, make sure before you close. you have an escrow account set up where the proceeds from the sale will be held from the builder until all work/repairs are completed. Most builders are great at fixing things prior to close, but after they have been paid they tend to slow down considerably on fixing things. Trust me, there will be many things to fix after closing. If some of the builders money is held in escrow they may be more inclined to do the repairs. My builder is still slowly fixing things more than a year after closing.
