I am in the market to replace an older Sony DVD player. I figure I might as well go for progressive even though I don't have a progressive capable TV, in hopes that the TV will be upgraded in the not too distant future.

After reading several threads I can;t see getting anything without the Faroudja chip. In that light is there anything better in the under $300 range than the Denon? I'm not crazy about what I have read concerning build quality.

    Thanks.

The Denon DVD-910 has Faroudja and sells for a list price of $299. The Mitsubishi DD-8040 has Faroudja and DVD-audio and sells for under $250.
