Hey Guys,
I know there are few kids who hang here (Buzz, I'm looking in your direction if you're still around) who compose and work with loop based audio in programs like Sonic Foundry's Acid (also Sonar works quite well for this type of thing).
Anyway- I have recently finished recording a 5 song Demo for a really heavy metal band. Because their budget is pretty low, I'm going to end up mixing everything in the PC environment (easier for me, less time spent, etc).
As a result, all 24 stem tracks have been dumped into the PC, and I ave actually burned Cds containing just the 24 stem tracks from the recording (all synced and ready to be mixed). I thought it might be fun, if anyone is interested, to offer some Acid users copies of these discs in order to take a shot at creating techno/industrial/hip hop renditions of the tunes.
I can't offer any money or anything- so it would be for fun. I would say that if the band were to use any of the material, I would make sure whoever did the work would get something for their efforts.
I have all the raw tracks (Kick, Snare, HiHat, Toms, Overheads, 4 guitar tracks, 2 bass tracks, 6-8 vocal tracks per song), but you're welcome to abandon them as much as you want, and work the guitars and whatever into new stuff... I figured some pre-made beats (or modified beats using the actual drum sounds provided?) with chunks of the metal guitar stuff might be interesting.
I just again thought it might be funny to hear some translations from some of the acid dabblers here on the forum. If nothing else you get a CD full of analog drum one shots to use in your own material
Anyone interested?
