Sorry to ask another Star Wars question, but here in Canada on Sunday, Star Wars was shown on CTV(I think) and the program guide on my Starchoice receiver said that it was the original version. Does Lucas's comments on never showing the original version apply only to DVD(and future format) releases or does it apply to TV as well? I didn't have the chance to check and see what version it was as I was heading out the door, but any opinions would welcomed.

p.s. I realize that this could go in the TV section but I am asking in regards to a DVD release.

Ever since the re-release in 97, whenever I have seen the original trilogy on TV, it's always been the Special Editions. I imagine Lucasfilm has the right to not let broadcasters show a particular version.

"What are the differences between them?"
    Nothing. Not a thing.

Hold up guys. The ORIGINAL version of ANH was shown here on UPN about 2 months ago.
I could tell it was the original from the print itself and sure enough, there were none of those HORRIBLE SE changes.
Some stations DO still air the original version of ANH at least.
I prefer the originals and I pray that Lucas will someday give them to us on DVD, my LDs are only so good and not anamorphic [IMG].

Chill, Tom. Most of us don't have that bookmark that you've got there. Second, looking at it, it does not give the definitive answer to his question. It doesn't mention the Greedo scene, Luke's Scream, Bring My Shuttle, etc.
Which is why I recommended he do a search. This topic has been hashed over so many times that he can find all he needs here at the forum.
