I just caught part of Fearless on Bravo and found it to be a really good movie. I liked what I saw so much I wanted to rent it from Netflix so I could see it in its entirety, but much to my dismay it is available in pan & scan only. It is always such a disappointment to find a movie that I had missed in the theaters only to find that the DVD release is not OAR.

The folks at Warner stated that there are no plans to revisit the title. [IMG]

Poor presentation, yes. However, Fearless is a flat (1.85:1) film. Thus, the fullscreen version is more or less an unmatted version.

The film was shot hard-matted 1.66:1 (Allen Daviau does this will all his 1.85:1 films) and then soft-matted to 1.85:1, which means the DVD is at least partially panned-and-scanned. The LD, however, is widescreen and has far better composition.

I just picked up the LaserDisc for $1.00. I hope to give it a spin soon.
