I'm trying to decide between the Bravo and Samsung DVD/DVI players to go with the Samsung DLP. Sure, the Bravo is $100 less, but the Samsung has a Faroudja chip.

So what I'm wondering is, if I'm using the DVI hookup with these things, does the chip on the DVD player get used or does the chip on the DLP TV get used?

It sort of boggles my mind that using one of the two best features on the TV (DVI) would cancel out the other best feature of the TV (Faroudja).

What I got from that is that I'd best off running the DVD player on interlace (480i) via the DVI (is that possible?) to the DLP TV and letting the TV do its mojo. About right?

Shane, I don't know if it's possible to pass an interlaced signal via DVI....I would think not but I really don't know. Maybe someone else will chime in.
