I just noticed a ton of movies are now showing as 4K in iTunes.

Anyone else notice this?

Titles like
ET
The Mummy Films
T2
Terminator Genisys
The Purge Films
Fences
Apollo 13
And lots more

I now have 133 4K/HDR/Dolby Vision films in my library.:thumbsup:

Yeah ET and Apollo 13 are now 4K/UHD, but some others are still in HD like The Mummy films and T2. There are a few different versions of T2 on their site.

I guess. I just checked and all three Mummy films are definitely 4K for me.

You can now sort your films by 4K/HDR. T2 is listed and when I play it the HDR icon is there but not 4K. Strange. But it’s definitely not SD which was the only version I owned.

Are there any apps for the Amazon Fire TV to play the movies from the studios who haven't joined MA yet? I've searched plenty of times for Vudu or any apps that would be connected to Ultraviolet, and it looks like Amazon ditched them at some point prior to Movies Anywhere starting up.

SO this kinda stinks

Universal used to include both UV and iTunes codes with their Blu-ray.

Just purchased Happy Death Day and it comes with only a MA code

Which means it redeemed on iTunes in HD and not 4K.

Boo
And to boot, I tried to redeem in Canada, with a disc and code I bought in Canada, and the UniversalRedeem.com portal, once I enter the code, redirects to Movies Anywhere. Movies Anywhere isn't in Canada yet, and we don't know when, if ever, it will be.

GAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

At least I have the disc.

Yeah, the UV stuff is useless in Canada. If it doesn't have an iTunes code, I just toss it.

I redeemed Groundhog Day on Vudu, which provided HD versions on Vudu, Amazon Video, Google Play Movies, Sony Ultra, FandangoNow, and Movies Anywhere. Weird, since Google Play shows they offer the film in 4K.

I redeemed it through the MA app and I now own the 4K version in iTunes.

Before I redeem any codes I try to check whether Vudu or iTunes or both have 4K versions. It helps determines how I redeem my codes. For titles that are Lionsgate, Paramount and MGM that will not populate to both Vudu or iTunes it helps my redemption decision.

If the title is available as both Movies Anywhere and Ultraviolet, I redeem on Vudu so I can get both of those. If it's MA-only, I've been going to iTunes.
