I know she lived a long and happy life, but I'm still very sad about this. Loved her in the 1938 MGM Christmas Carol, as Polly Benedict in the Andy Hardy series, and of course in Gone With the Wind...the last of the O' Hara family is gone now.
Always enjoyed her talent and so happy that she shared it with us for many years. The news was extremely sad, especially since I have been enjoying the Andy Hardy DVDs again this past weekend.
Ann Rutherford was a regular attendee at many classic film events all around the country and was always easily approachable, warm and enthusiastic. I remember congratulating her on a job well-done for her commentary track she recorded with Fayard Nicholas on Fox's DVD of "Orchestra Wives." She laughed and said "That was so tough to do, because all my life I had been told not to talk during the movie!"
Another actress gone from the Golden Age of Hollywood. Enjoyed watching her in the Andy Hardy series.
I'll always regret not acting on my passion for the Golden Age of Hollywood/Radio and trying to meet some of these great actors/actresses while single and carefree. I really envy the ones who had the opportunity to meet some of them. I wish I could have met Judy Garland but I was only 2 years old when she passed away.
