Hi All,

It was just announced yesterday that The Animation Show: Volume One is coming to DVD. The Animation Show: Volume One was in theaters last year, but they could not get all the rights to produce all of the same shorts for this DVD. So, they added some shorts to replace the ones they took out.

Here is a listing of what will be on the DVD:

Welcome to the Show, by Don Hertzfeldt
Mt Head (Atama Yama), by Koji Yamamura
Brother, by Adam Elliot
Parking, by Bill Plympton
The Adventures of Ricardo, by Corky Quakenbush
La Course A L'Abime, by Georges Schwizgebel
Billy's Balloon, by Don Hertzfeldt
Cousin, by Adam Elliot
The Cathedral (Katedra), by Tomek Baginski
Intermission in the Third Dimension, by Don Hertzfeldt
Fifty Percent Grey, by Ruairi Robinson
Uncle, by Adam Elliot
Early Pencil Tests and other Experiments, by Mike Judge
Aria, by Pjotr Sapegin
Bathtime in Clerkenwell, by Aleksey Budovskiy
The Rocks (Das Rad), by Chris Stenner, Arvid Uibel, and Heidi Wittlinger
The End of the Show, by Don Hertzfeldt

Matt-

I understand that "Rejected" is going to be available on a collection that Hertzfelt's "Bitter Films" company is going to release, but it is taking them a long long time.

In the meantime, there is a great DVD-Single of "Rejected" that has special features that are great, including a commentary by a friend of the Hertzfedlt.

You can buy that DVD-Single of "Rejected" at Hertzfeldt's website:

Mark

Don Hertzfeldt's Rejected is available on DVD at the same site. They released that last year, which would explain why it's not in Volume One.

Here's a description:

The Bonus Features are:

frame-by-frame digitally remastered 35mm film transfer and soundtrack, exclusive to this DVD only - the next best thing to seeing it in a theater

the never-before-seen deleted scene

discarded sketches + experiments

entirely awful audio commentary
by voice actor robert may

complete production journal

animated menus

remote control scene selection

plus extra surprises!

This is an all-region DVD that should be playable in any NTSC DVD player around the world.

You can check it out at:

Excellent news!
I saw this at the local arthouse, glad I did. Some great pieces in there. I may need to pick up that Rejected disk too.

Just a note to remind that Disney's "Mars and Beyond" short, which played in the theatrical version of the Animation Show, will be on the "Tomorrowland" Walt Disney Treasures DVD coming out this spring.
