Well Ive got Season 1 and 2 in Region 4. Its also available Region 2 in widescreen (Region 4 is full screen).
you can look it up at www.ezydvd.com.au
but if you can't play other regions then your out of luck for a while (im sure region 1 will be out sooner or later)

Supposedly there is a trailer on Buffy Season 2 for US Angel releases. Until then nothing is known of its fate

I'm interested to know if the 'previously...' sections are on both Angel S1 and Buffy S4, as there will then be widescreen versions of small Angel S1 clips in Buffy.
It is ridiculous of Fox to
(A) produce Angel S1 in 4:3 when they knew they were doing the corresponding Buffy Season in 16:9
(B) Totally confuse DVD purchasers who aren't in the know by making sure both S1 and S2 of Angel are available before S4 of Buffy. The insanity!!

Errr... I discovered Angel first, Buffy was a 'side project', so I am one of those 'insane' people who are very very glad Angel S1 & S2 are out right now :D

The insanity of Fox, Angela, not of the consumer.

While you may well enjoy Angel only, the 4 crossovers from the first season and the 2ish of the second won't make much sense to people who enjoy both series who may well be seeing Buffy/Angel for the first time on both formats. Take the person who gets to the end of S2 Angel and then has to wait another 4 months to find out what has happened in Buffy...

Moreover, they made sure the VHS box sets came out at the same time.

Hi Theo,
While I like cross-overs, I like to think that the episodes can stand up on their own and make sense without having to have watched the first part (It doesn't hurt, of course :D )
The 2 crossovers in S1 certainly stand this test and make sense on their own without the previous Buffy episode. I accept that "I will remember you" is even more intense knowing the 3 years back story of the main characters, but it is still a good ep all by itself.
(Anyway, the local tv station here in Australia is playing Buffy and Angel episodes out of alignment, so any possible cross-over effects are totally lost :frowning:)

Yeah, Angela, I'm not disputing that Angel stands on its own (though possibly understanding exactly why Faith is so screwed and hates Buffy makes little sense without Buffy S3 and S4 eps), I'm just saying that there are a LOT of us out there that like both series and would like them released in the RIGHT ORDER. You have to admit that it's just a slap in the face for us. Ho-hum...;)

It will be a while before we see Angel on DVD. Fox can make a lot more money selling the reruns to syndication instead of home video. Syndication call pull in tens or humdreds of millions in North America but not the rest of the world. That is why other areas will have TV shows on DVD while North America has to wait years.
