Slipped right past me that Daniel Day-Lewis had returned to acting. Kind of great news, but I just found out. I guess this means that PTA is now off the hook for causing him to "retire."

Doesn't DDL retire after almost every movie? It seems like he just takes a long time between projects rather than actually retiring.

Ha, I don't know if he has said he was retired several times. I just recall after Phantom Thread he said he was retired. I'm not going to knock him for it but I'd like him not to retire because he is pretty damn good. I don't know how he was as a shoemaker.

I think he had already retired after My Left Foot to become a shoemaker and I thought he also retired after There Will Be Blood and again on Phantom Thread. Either way, it's happened before.
