I never knew this thing existed!: Sega/LD player
I can find a few other things to spend my money on!
Ahhh, the LaserActive. It's a good value machine for retrogame enthusiasts. With the right plug-in cards, it's capable of playing Sega Genesis, SegaCD and PCEngine games, as well as LaserActive games.
I have a friend who is a big fan of them.
Ok, I'm officially freaked out right now. That thing is even more surreal than Amstrad's combination PC/Genesis machine (in which the whole Sega side was completely seperate, rather than using emulation or anything). And you could get a PC Engine adaptor as well? Groovy! I always meant to get a cheap Engine, but they never did become that cheap (probably due to never being released in the UK).
Amusingly, I was actually within a hair's breadth of splashing out for an Engine in about '88, but preferred the DMA classic Menace on the Amiga to Engine R-Type, as I hated the vertical scrolling change (the Engine couldn't fit the full height on screen at once). A couple of years later when everyone had Amigas and the Engine was still some mythic beast it seemed a curious decision, I must say...
"And you thought the Pioneer Game Cube was weird...."
You do mean Panasonic right? Just making sure...
man I think this guy got away with a steal, I would love to have one of them for my collection.
As it comes with the Genesis pack & joypad, yup, he got a pretty good deal.
That rates 10 on my funk-omiter. I wan't one damn it!
