Has anyone seen "SIX PACK" starring Diane Lane and Kenny Rogers (!?) Is it any good? How is the DVD? Any reviews?

Saw it a milion times on cable.

Loved it as a kid. Doubt it holds up.

The transfer is not stunning due to the age of the film. The story is universal enough that it still holds up well. For NASCAR fans there are a couple of nostalgic moments. The only complaint I have is a bad edit where a line is abruptly truncated. It goes "Does a bear sh" and cuts away mid sentence.

I used to see this all the time as well. Pop's would always bring it home, mainly because of Kenny Rogers.

So is the DVD edited then? I seem to recall a bit of cursing in this.

It appears that just the one line is chopped of. The rest of the cursing appears to all be there, but I can't guarantee it.

It's not cut at all. It's the full version with the swearing little kids. That line has always been slightly "clipped" to mask the profanity. I thought the transfer was excellent considering the films age and the sound was mono but smooth and involving. It even has Wilma Deering from Buck Rogers in it (and she looks mighty fine!) and Diane Lane (what a babe!)

I went to elemetary school and High school [breifly] with this kid http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0830234/ . He was a relative [nephew?] of Kenny Rogers. It was a big deal to us kids in '82.

That song kicks ass. Well, maybe "kicks ass" isn't the right term. It's quite enjoyable, however.
