just read dvdfile's review of the cult classic THE STUNT MAN, and it seems like the quality control over at good ol' Anchor Bay isn't getting any better after the Opera and Heathers dvd authoring fiascos and the soundtrack "problems" of Suspiria, Better Tomorrow, etc. The review states that there were authoring and freezeup glitches with a Toshiba dvd player, and that the dialogue is absolutely buried in the mix. Ugh.

That is too bad, if true. This is a wonderful, fun film. O'Toole is absolutely MANIC. I have been waiting for this on DVD for a while.
I have the LD, and the transfer is horrible, dark and murky, as I remember. Grain was very apperant. Should be redone, for sure!

The dialog is buried in the mono mix on my laserdisc from time to time, so maybe they actually got that part right! [IMG]
