I have "Man With A Screaming Brain" on pre-order, as I know Campbells been trying to get it made forever, so I'm really curious to seehow it turned out.

I was going to pass on "Season Of The wWitch" as my one attempt to view it bored the hell out of a group of us, so we turned it off. The addition of the "The Directors" episode well probably make me shell out for this though. Anyone have any idea how a longer version of this plays?

They've got some nerve calling Day of the Dead 2 a sequel to Romero's film. Chronologically it almost seems more like a prequel to the first NOTLD film, but the plot, acting, and especially the special FX are just damn awful. I heard they had a $9 mil budget and yet couldn't pull off any decent gore FX on the zombies, many of which are just people covered in lots of blood and no bodily mutilations whatsoever. The movie reeks of being an opportunistic rip-off trying to cash in on the success of Dawn 2004 and Land of the Dead, as well as using Romero's good name to make their own movie more important than it really is even though this film has no ties with George Romero or any of his movies. The hacks that made it should have come up with an original name instead of ripping off the better films.

Moving on to another minor rant, I'm surprised Anchor Bay is re-releasing Santa Claus the movie. I loved this film as a child and it's still a nostalgic favorite of mine, but it's hardly worthy of a double dip since the only thing new in this version is a commerative booklet. I guess Anchor Bay is continuing their tradition of pointless re-releases. [IMG]

Anchor Bay's recent DVDs of Dario Argento's THE CARD PLAYER and TRAUMA are both not flagged for progressive-scan playback. I've heard some of their other recent film-sourced DVDs also suffer from this problem. Unless they get their act together and fix this major mastering flaw (and offer corrected replacements of the defective Argento titles as well as any other of their titles that suffer from this) very soon, I won't be buying any film-sourced titles from them anymore.

Great news, but what happened to Class of 1984?

I was holding out for this, but I might have to get the UK R2 after all...

ZOMBI: Dawn Of The Dead - European Version

Contains additional footage and music not seen in any other version of the
    film.

Version as in the film itself, or on DVD? It was originally listed as 121 in runtime, which would have suggested a FOURTH cut of the movie. I'm fairly positive that's not the case, given the Ultimate edition is 118.

That said, was the Euro Cut in the boxed set Divimax? If not, may buy this just for completion sake. Never seen "Season of the Witch", so may have to take that one in.

    Future Releases

Looks like "Cemetery Man" has been yanked. The other two are noted.

This release is just the 3rd disc from the Ultimate boxset, transfer, supplements, and all. The UE box had a single Divimax badge on the packaging that applied to all of the transfers.

I'm surprised nobody is talking up The Jazz Singer.

Artisan released an abysmal DVD a few years back, and
this title is in desperate need of a remaster.

I hope Anchor Bay does justice to this release in
    both audio and video.

I heard the Artisan DVD sucked. Im not sure how the movie will hold up for me (havent seen it in years) but the soundtrack is a classic. Im actually seeing Diamond in a couple weeks. He puts on a great show.

Perhaps they would if it wasn't such an abysmal film.
