Neil Patrick Harris Returns In "Doogie Howser, M.D. - Season Three"

All 24 Episodes Available On DVD For The First Time Ever

Troy MI – What happens when Dr. Doogie Howser, the teenage wiz kid with a heart of gold, finds his life changing in every way? From dealing with his virginity to moving into his own pad, Doogie is becoming a man and it’s a challenge bigger than getting through med school. On January 17, IDT Entertainment’s Anchor Bay Entertainment will release Season Three of the award-winning television series Doogie Howser, M.D. All 24 episodes will be included in a four-disc DVD collection with a suggested retail price of $39.98. Pre-order date is December, 20 2005.

Created by David E. Kelley (“Boston Legal”, “The Practice”) and Steven Bochco (“NYPD Blue”, “Hill Street Blues”) Doogie Howser, M.D. ran from 1989-1993 and still generates warm feelings from fans who fell in love with star Neil Patrick Harris (“How I Met Your Mother”) and the show’s groundbreaking dramedy format.

Not even 20 and already a practicing doctor, Doogie is a phenomenon. But balancing his medical responsibilities and his changing relationships with friends and family is becoming more complicated. Every day presents a new challenge for Doogie, and at each episode’s end he writes his impressions in his computer journal - an icon of late ‘80s television.

In season three, Doogie returns with his best friend Vinnie Delpino (Max Casella – “The Sopranos”, Analyze This) and his best girl, Wanda (Lisa Dean Ryan – “Cold Case”, “NYPD Blue”). They’re another year older, and as they grow up they sometimes grow apart too.

Doogie Howser M.D. - Season Three refills the prescription of laughter and pathos with the young physician involved in many life altering experiences that are some of the most touching in the series. A wild trip to Palm Springs for spring break and unexpected bonding experience with his father in Honduras, leave Doogie forever changed.

    Season Three Bonus Features:

The Other Doctor Doogie Howser: An intimate interview with creator James B. Sikking.

Growing Up on the Set: Star Neil Patrick Harris takes a fun-filled trip back to his days playing Doogie.

When I posted news about these extras, I dropped the word "creator" from that description. Sikking played Doogie's father, Dr. David Howser. Steven Bochco & David E. Kelley created the show, of course, although I think Bochco has always gotten the majority of the credit.

Anchor Bay or their marketing people probably used the Season 1 extras (which included a Bochco interview) as a template for describing the extras on Season 3, and just forgot to change that one word.
