I read in a different thread that analog is recommended over digital SPL. I went to RS to get the analog but they only had the digital, model 33-2055 for $60. Supposedly the analog is much cheaper. Are the analogs still available, and if so should i just check another RS?

Yes, I think the analog is probably better. Call radio shacks to find out who has it. Maybe you can order it right from their web site.

Analog is easier to read, and is cheaper (a good combination in my mind).
If your local RS doesn't have the analog one, you can ask them to order one for you. The cat number is 33-2050.
You can also order it by going to the website, or calling 1-800-THE SHACK.
