Get the analog:

Mechanism is easier to use, you can use your eyes to 'average' the readout since levels bounce around, esp. subwoofer.

Everyone else uses analog- your reported observations will be 'calibrated' with the rest of ours.

It is cheaper.

I also prefer the analog model. I money is not an object and you want something a drop better you could also look at something like the Tenma analog meter. It is $79.95 at Newark Electronics, www.newark.com their part no. is 50N1370. If it is something that will be used a few times and put away, the Radio Shack is fine.
