I have a Denon 1604 amp with RCA DBS hooked up and I can only get an analog signal. Can I only recieve analog from DirectTV DSS?

I am useing only RCA wires to hook all my audio up on my reciever, Can I get any digital sound with these hookups?

Does the sony PS2 produce a digital sound? With RCA cables?

The only way to recieve a PCM or DTS signal is from......?

The only way to get a digital signal is to use the digital outputs on the DirecTV box, or PS2, and run the appropriate digital cable to the digital inputs on the Denon receiver. (The DirecTv box may not have digital outputs, though.) Digital cables come in two flavors--COAX and OPTICAL (AKA Toslink).

The Denon manual details the details on how to make the connections and the setup on the receiver.
