Let's see...four games to go and four ahead of the Mariners. However, the last three games of the season are against Seattle, so I'm sure you'd like to clinch today.
    Confident or worried? [IMG]

Hey, at least the three-way-tie possibility doesn't exist any more [IMG] If the Red Sox end the season only a game or two out of the playoffs, I'll be sumkindapeeohed at Little playing the scrubs over the past couple of weeks. Not to mention the utter confusion of how a team can possibly finish the season with the top three AL pitchers in ERA (Pedro, Lowe, and Wakefield), the batting champion (Manny), and four or five other all-stars on the team and still miss the playoffs. I mean, WTF?
Though I hope things go well for the Angel fans (both of them); they haven't been around as long as some of the other franchises, but that franchise has had some of the worst luck.

Some of that bad luck having acquired the Arkansas Travelers a couple years back as a farm team. I regularly go to about 6 Travelers games a year and have only seen them win 5 times in the past 10 years. Either they have bad luck when I go to see them or they play better away than home.

Congrats to the Anaheim Angels! They are a talented and truly scary team. We'll see how they do against the Yanks, but it could very well be Anaheim on top when all is said and done. What's really scary about this team is their middle relief. If that can stay solid, they will be in every game.
I think with the Angel team history, to go from worst to first in one season, Scioscia will probably win the Manager of The Year as well.
That said, I wouldn't be me if I didn't say that Art Howe actually deserves to win Manager of The Year. After losing Giambi, and being one of only 18 teams in major league history to put up back-to-back 100 win seasons, that's extremely tough to do, and Howe's never gotten any credit for it.
The playoffs are shaping up to be really exciting, we'll see how things go. Should be fun.

That pic oin the right of Art Howe is classic. [IMG]
