I am looking at buying a used amp. to accompany my Denon 3803. I have Rockets 5.1 speaker set-up. My budget is about $800.00 What amps make a good match with the 3803? Thanks.

Hi Steve, I plan on doing the same thing. I also have the 3803 and a 550 Rocket setup. I plan on waiting until the Emotiva is released before I buy an amp. I like the idea of buying it in a two Ch. config, then sometime down the road, when more funds are available, buy additional Ch. I have also been looking at the Outlaw mono blocks.

Steve,

I can highly recommend the Marantz MA-500(125 watts) or MA-700(200 watts) monoblock amps, they are currently discontinued but had garnered great reviews when popular.

Do a search and ask around, someone might have some for sale. Also, I believe that Marantz currently sells the MA-6100 as the replacement for the MA-500(125 watt) monoblock.

I have personally used my Denon 3801 with (7) of the Marantz MA-700's in a 7.1 setup with great results!

Good luck in your quest!

do you want to run all speakers. Adcom makes 2-channel and 3-channel amps about $400-$700 used on ebay. Hope your sub has it's own amp.

I am looking at running the front two plus center off the amp. I will be getting a SVS PC+ 25-31. I would like 175 watt or better.
