    Hello,

I'm looking to upgrade my current system and would love some amp recommendations somewhere between $500 and $1000 for a good "used" unit because I have read this is the way to go in this market. I currently have a Denon 3803 mated with Paradigm Studio 60s, CC-470, and SA-30s all version 3. I would be willing to consider a 3 or 5-channel amp to go w/ the system. I also have an SVS PB12-ISD in the corner as well. My room dimensions are as follows: 9' ceiling, 15x15 for home theater area with a dining room behind it which is about another 12 feet deep behind the couch.

    Thanks in advance,

    PJ

you could get a rotel 1075, which is 120x5 @ 8ohms, retails for around $1k, but you can get it used for $750 or so.

    awesome amp.

can a 1095 be had for less than $1k used? Or will a 1075 suffice just fine for my purposes?

    Thanks.

Consider Outlaw amps. I have a similar setup to yours and the outlaw amps work great. I beleive you can get 3 of their M200 amps for around $1000. They are 200w each, so they have all the power you'll need.

Another fine option in my opinion is the Marantz MM-9000. The amp has 150W x 5CH. You can get them in your price range. I have been using this amp for about 1½ years now and feel it is a great value. I also think I remember someone from another forum who was looking to sell his, yeap I found the link: For Sale: Marantz-MM9000

www.outlawaudio.com for the M200s. They sell direct. They also have the 755 5ch amp - 200 wpc.

The MM9000 was probably one of the best deals around, selling new for $700 on clearance at one point. I already had monoblocks or I would have bought one.

I would second the Rotel, I have a 2-channel from them and have been very happy.

Parasound is another suggestion. I've been happy with a 1203A (3x140) and 1000A (2x125) running Paradigm 40v3, 570, ADP's. I bought both units used, one here at HTF and another from Audiogon.

There is someone in Hardware for Sale has a 1205 (5x140) for 750USD. Retail is 1200. He is also listing it on audiogon.
