Hi, can someone recommend a good 2 channel amp that puts out about 300 watts per channel?

I'm not really sure where to start looking for one.

Thanks,
TJ

Hi TJ,

What is your price range? You can easily spend $30,000 if you want to.

Remember, "number of watts" does not equate to "quality of sound".

Good luck,
Kevin

i'd like to stay around 500-1000 price range, but the only reason i say 300watts, is because my speakers are Polk Lsi25 and they are rated highest power rating of 300watts. It was just a figure to be a guide by.

You should be able to find a used Citation 7.1. This beast can be configured as 4X150 watts. 3 channel 2X150 plus 300+, or fully bridged for 2 channel at over 400 watts per channel.

The 7.1 listed for $2,800 when new.

I believe they can be had for less than $1,000.

Artie

PS They were designed from the ground up to run fully bridged so 4 ohms is not a strain at all.

I'm not sure how much it costs, but the Rotel RB-1090 sounds like a solid choice for a relatively low cost but high performing 2 channel amp with a high power rating(2x380W@8ohm)

McCormack DNA2 Deluxe... you can pick it up for $2000-2500, used. The sweetest-sounding solid-state I've heard.
