Amp power output slope (1 Viewer)

I was hoping to get some input on the following question from Chu Gai or any one else who might know.

If I connect an external power amp to my Denon 3803 (

Assuming both the amp and the Denon (preamp and amp section) are operating in their linear range, once you calibrate the separate amp to match output levels with the Denon's internal amps, they should stay matched at any levels within the linear operating conditions of both pre and amp. If either of them are going non-linear or clipping beyond thier limits then the output levels won't be matched anymore.
