I purchased an onkyo s-790 7.1 HTIB recently before i planned ahead for a solid HT. The reciever is not too bad but now i have A klipsch Synergy III center channel and F3 mains. For some reason I dont think im getting as much out of these speakers as i should be. Im a newbie to HT so i am looking for some advise. I see people talking about procesors, amps, and power centers but im not too sure on what would benefit me. Is there any way i could get away with purchasing an amp to add more power to the fronts instead of purchasing a better reciever? Is that the purpose of an amp to add more watts to the powerfull speakers? I dont mind spending $300 on an amp if i can avoid spending $700 on a reciever. Any advise i would greatly appreciate. Thanks
