Parts Express and MCM both carry a variety of plate amps with reasonable prices. Plate amps are not the most efficient but have built in crossover, phase, and volume controls to suit your needs. Depending on the type of enclosure a good 250w/300w amp should be more than enough to do the task. If you use both 12"s I would build separate enclosures and put one up front and the other locate behind the main viewing area. Of course this might require two amps to get the phasing issue right. If I can help in anyway let me know.
