Any early predictions?
good lord, no way I'll be watching this one. Those girls are barely Sears catalog caliber, let alone "supermodel". At least half of the girls from the 1st season blow any one of these away. Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel.
There are better looking girls on Fear Factor.
Gotta love the comment "I can't believe how beautiful I look. Oh I have a butt!!" Yeah that's what happens with airbrushing.
Dang, I forgot this! I loved the first installment. Are they re-airing it?
I watched a bit of it.
I loved it when they didn't wake that one girl up and she got all pissed at the others.
So who's your pick to win it all?
Well, I tend to root for the underdogs, so Shandi gets my vote. I think she has the most to grow in terms of self confidence and learning the ropes. A perfect ugly duckling story.
The show is focusing more on haute couture or high fashion, and those types of models are not always your typical beauties. So with that in mind there are definitely some who don't make the cut based on appearances alone (I'm thinking the one with the larger cup size).
Well Tyra was on Conan last night and she said there was "Orgy" (her words) in an upcoming show.
Ya gotta love reality tv!
None of these girls do all that much for me, so I can't really say any are rootworthy.
I guess I'm weird because I think Shandi is by far the most appealing and attractive of the bunch. I think she'll wind up in the final three, but she won't win it. It'd be neat if she did, though.
Didn't mean to say she is unattractive, but she makes me think of the "plain" girl in high school who comes to the high school reunion as the hot girl. I got to see that for myself at my reunion.
Jay Manuel is so fine!
HEY! Where are the pictures? I thought it was against forum rules to post like this without any backup photos.
Well, a few of the young women I kinda liked at the start are starting to lose favor with me and the ones who didn't really stand out are starting to come into their own.
What the heck happened to Catie? She seemed pretty stable until this week's ep, where she became the human faucet.
Shandi is getting better overall in the confidence department, especially after that cringe-inducing runway walk. That is NOT something I need to see again.
It's funny how many times the art director had to tell the girls to close their mouths during the shoot. It kind of shows they still are working from an image of what a model should be, rather than operating on their own instincts or experience. Or I guess just not being aware of or in control of their face while trying to do other things with their body.
Yoanna and Camille are each annoying in their way. I think Yoanna is definitely taking the higher ground in the conflict and it was nice to see her rewarded and Camille get knocked down a couple.
Besides the technical and performance issues with Heather's work, she was obviously not ready to be on her own. Imagine if she actually got a job away from home! She needs to go away to college or something and go into it gradually.
The girls I like best so far are the more laid back and the more "exotic" - Sara and April.
Shandi just seems like the ringer in this group in terms of "storyline".
Her boyfriend also sounds like an unsupportive goob, wishing she'd get eliminated so she would come home.
One of my favorites - Sara - got eliminated, but I'm pretty sure we'll see her again. Hopefully in Sports Illustrated!
Now we are down to five. Shandi is still holding strong, though April is the clear dominator at this stage. I think it will come down to these two. The others have had their moments, but seem to have more or less peaked.
Tyra's new song and video debuted. It's not horrible, but nothing extraordinary. She sings as well as J. Lopez I think, which means she'll probably sell a buttload of albums.
Camille has finally gotten the boot, in that boot-shaped country called Italy!
Looks like that orgy is next week, though sadly Shandi seems to be the one with the indiscretion.
Well, Shandi was shady in last night's episode.
Can't believe they booted April over Mercedes.
I think Shandi takes it all next week.
That would be my guess too. I was totally expecting it to come down to April vs. Shandi, but I guess the judges got tired of April's over-analytical nature.
